Aha! is a comprehensive suite of product management tools for companies of all shapes and sizes.

Founded in 2013, the goal of this company was to make a useful tool for project managers, product managers, and engineering team members who need a way to stay on the same page while being informed about customers' desires. At the moment of writing, Aha! claims to have over one million users globally.

ProductPlan focuses primarily on roadmaps. It was founded in 2013 to help product teams visualize, plan, and communicate their product strategies.

It doesn't have a wide variety of features, but the features it does have are intuitive, easy to use, and come with superb user experience. Notable Product Plan customers include Microsoft, Amazon, PwC, and Southwest Airlines.

Aha! comes with a rich feature set for everything from creating a product strategy to executing it through customer feedback collection and development. Aha! makes the connection between theory and practice, giving you a full-scale system for using customer feedback.

Aha! is a tool for product management, feedback collection and organization, and customer communication, built for teams of all shapes and sizes. It has tools for everything from strategy to execution.

Since teams can pick their tools and add-ons, Aha! can be used by anyone who wants to organize and simplify their product management process. However, only advanced, larger teams can use all the benefits of the tools, such as roadmaps, whiteboards, feedback organization and analysis, and more.

Who is ProductPlan really for?

ProductPlan is for mature product teams that have other services such as feedback collection and management covered, and they just need a tool for beautiful roadmaps with custom views and plenty of customization options.

Unfortunately, ProductPlan's pricing, combined with its limited feature set, doesn't really make it a good choice for startups, small companies, or anyone who puts their budget first.

If you appreciate simplicity, Aha! pricing won't exactly be right up your alley. You can purchase this tool like a LEGO set and pick and choose the features you need while leaving out the rest.

Aha! roadmap software is at the core of their offer, and you can get it from $74 per user per month. Besides roadmaps, you get access to feedback collection tools, scorecards, virtual whiteboards and more. This plan includes integrations with Jira, Azure DevOps, and 30+ other apps, with your favorite project management tool probably on the list.

Aha! Ideas starts at $49 per user per month. This portion of the platform gives you access to idea portals, integrations with Salesforce and Zendesk, the ability to prioritize features based on revenue, as well as access to AI tools for feedback analysis.

Aha! Whiteboards is exactly that, a whiteboard tool that starts $11/user/mo. You can use it to create diagrams, models, and wireframes. There's also Aha! Knowledge starting at $23/user/month, and Aha! Develop $11/user/month.

But before you go there, here is the basic info: ProductPlan had transparent pricing until July 2024. They then removed pricing from the website and left the option of booking a consultation call or viewing a demo.

To skip to the good part, here are the pricing plans as of late 2024/early 2025:

  • Basic ($49 per editor per month)
  • Professional ($89 per editor per month)
  • Enterprise (get in touch with sales for more information)

You can only get ProductPlan with annual subscriptions. In other words, if you choose the Basic plan with five editors (who can create roadmaps, edit them and make updates), you'll have to pay $2,940 upfront for a year.

Also, you only get feedback collection and validation in the Enterprise plan. This makes ProductPlan very costly for the average product team.


The verdict

Aha! is the more versatile product. It can be used by product managers, cross-functional teams, customer success and support teams, and anyone who wants to build better products and provide value to their customers. It has a good variety of tools for product management and collaboration and a solid selection of integrations.

The biggest issue is that you must determine which features are your primary focus and mix and match their product offerings. There is no simple pricing plan to get the most important product management features with the least effort.

And once you do, you'll realize you could purchase more apps and other tools with the money you spend on a single Aha! subscription with all the tiers and features.

ProductPlan is essentially software for product roadmaps with a few cool add-ons. The fact that you can only collect and prioritize feedback in the most expensive Enterprise plan makes it a hard sell for most companies.

And even if you want just the ability to create, edit, and share roadmaps with old and new users, there are cheaper options out there. The fact that you can only buy an annual subscription is another hurdle for small teams and startups.
