Who uses Aha!?

Aha! is a better fit for larger enterprises that want to collect feedback and need to maintain multiple product lines easily. With advanced roadmapping software, goal setting and collaboration, portfolio management, and other features, this platform is a superb addition to any larger business.

At the same time, Aha! is noticeably more expensive than ProdPad. And while it's not the most expensive product strategy platform (we're looking at you, Uservoice), the price quickly adds up when you have many team members.

ProdPad offers an entire product management software suite, but broken down into parts you can purchase separately, like Barbie house furniture. Since it can be quite complicated, they also have a calculator on their pricing page.

The road mapping tool starts at $30/user/month, which gives you access to all the core features, including prioritization, global OKRs and metrics and unlimited roadmaps.

Ideas costs $30/user/month and includes unlimited idea capture, idea scoring and voting, backlog management, and AI features to detect related or duplicate content.

Feedback is the final piece of the puzzle, starting from additional $30/user/month. This gets you a centralized feedback portal with an email dropbox, different types of customer segmentations, and unlimited Reviewer logins.

The pricing plans are similar, but it's not difficult to see that ProdPad's pricing plans are cheaper. Even with all the tiers/modules combined, ProdPad comes out cheaper per user per month.

Aha! is similar in the way it structures its pricing because you can buy all the building blocks separately.

The staple product, Roadmaps, costs $74/user/month, which gives you the key roadmapping features and the integrations with project management and task management software.

Aha! Ideas is an additional $49/user/month, which gives you access to the feedback portal, idea prioritization, Salesforce and Zendesk integration, and a few other handy features.

Aha! Whiteboards and Aha! Knowledge cost another $23 and $11 per user a month, respectively.

What do users say?

ProdPad reviews

Prodpad is powerful, but certain features make it obvious that it's not built for larger teams. For example:

  • "I wish there were ways to restrict user access to different product groups. I run a product team that works across a number of different products, often with external stakeholders. We like to give these stakeholders access to ProdPad so that they can add new ideas and feedback. However, we currently can't restrict their access to only see one product and feedback from their domain." (Source)

  • "Ideas cannot be sorted easily via impact and effort, making prioritization very hard. We are currently exporting to a CSV to do this. It would be nice to have a more visual view to create ideas. Aha! users have a few things to say about the pricing and the useability:

  • "AHA contributor licenses are quite expensive. While a lot can also be done with the free seats (reviewer license), we find that the access management is not quite as refined for different roles. We would be able to get more value out of the tool if UX and engineering leads would also be able to work more extensively with epics, including non-functional requirements on the engineering side. But that is quite limited as per the AHA licensing. (Source)
  • Usability is an issue. The tool is quite feature-rich and customizable. But with many dropdown navigations, it is often not easy for the user to know where they are in the navigation (e.g., jumping from initiatives to reports/roadmaps with a dropdown or navigating across the tree of org hierarchy). There are also a lot of similar/redundant features such as the many different roadmap views, which take some getting used to to identify which one is preferred when." (Source)

Conclusion

ProdPad and Aha! are both good tools for capturing customer feedback, building roadmaps, and basing your future development on hard data rather than hunches and assumptions.
